      The Candidate Specification

We are recruiting a Sous Chef to join a brand-new yacht ahead of her delivery in November. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new galley from the very start and help shape the culinary programme onboard.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will support the galley across both guest and crew food, and help with procurement, provisioning and stock management. You will be a key part of building a strong, close-knit galley team. The owners’ Executive Chef from their existing yacht may join for the first owners’ trip, which offers a fantastic chance to learn and collaborate.

The owners enjoy fine dining, with a particular love of Italian cuisine, premium fish and wagyu. We are looking for a Sous Chef with a strong culinary background who can confidently cook at this level, adapt to specific dietary preferences and step up to run the galley when the Head Chef is off. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a lunch and dinner trial, with the freedom to create their own menu and showcase their style.

Personality matters just as much as skill. The ideal candidate will be confident without being arrogant, a supportive team player who is respectful towards the wider crew, and willing to learn and take direction while bringing their own ideas. A genuine passion for healthy, high-quality crew food is essential, as crew welfare is an important part of the onboard culture.

      • Required experience: Previous sous/crew experience within the superyacht industry
      • Qualification: Culinary qualification, STCW, ENG1
      • Required Visa: B1/B2 preferred
      • Due to Cabin arrangements: Male
